Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get started with a webinar?

A great topic for a webinar is only the beginning! Planning a webinar will require defining your target audience, content strategy and outline, email marketing, and digital advertising in order to attract the right attendees.

What are the benefits of doing a webinar ?

You'll be engaging your audience whenever you host one and be generating marketing assets for future audiences. Hosting a webinar generates content for your company's offering. Webinars are more than just walking someone through a Powerpoint, Google slides, or a product demo. All webinars hosting platforms come with a record feature, giving you the benefit of valuable and shareable video content.  Webinars are also terrific for converting into blog posts, Q&A content, and much more.

What's the average performance of a webinar for leads?

Performance for a webinar depends on who your target will be. On average, our webinars have about 50% of registered audiences actually attend the webinar with a 2-3% conversion for B2B marketing (of those attendees).  However, the webinar is an asset to re-leverage in content marketing such as blogs and social posts, which also leads to more MQLs and SALs (marketing qualified leads, sales accepted leads).

How do I advertise a webinar?

If you already have a large mailing list of contacts and/or leads, then you will need to target audiences using savvy email marketing and retargeting in your Facebook, LinkedIn, and/or Google ads platforms. If you're attempting to foster new leads, then advertising to lookalike audiences from web visits will be a strategy to try.

Which part of the sales and marketing funnel is a webinar?

A webinar is a great follow-up to a prospective buyer (or lead) who has already engaged with you by downloading an eBook, taken a guided tour, a demo, and so on.  Any lead that you have organically acquired through lead generation efforts is an excellent candidate for a webinar.  We consider webinars mid-funnel for prospective buyers.  However, webinars are also a great tool to engage your current customer base to upsell or cross-sell features.  For example, Salesforce uses webinars to announce new features, which leads to more adoption and customer loyalty.

Do I need to buy webinar software?

No.  While we would prefer to create assets with your own webinar platform (a list is available here), DCG Arts has a subscription to support webinars for up to 100 attendees.  If your webinar needs are greater than 100 attendees, then we can help you find the right platform for your needs.  Keep in mind, about 1% to 10% of those invited via email will attend your webinar.  We have experience with many platforms, please contact us for a free recommendation.  The most important aspect of the webinar is the content, not the software.

How do I present a webinar?

Webinars do best by being hosted by knowledgeable experts of the field. Speaking with authority will reflect your brand's authenticity. DCG Arts will work with you in rehearsals to sharpen your presenting skills.  Maybe you're thinking: I'm not the best public speaker, do I have to present? No worries! We also help with finding experts and booking talent, if you'd like to delegate a webinar. The important part is selecting potential presenters who know the topic inside and out, and will be comfortable talking on-camera. Subject matter experts are especially important for webinars during Q&A and unexpected questions.

How long does it take to create a webinar?

Whether your topic is for your current customer base or trying to get new prospects into your CRM, a webinar takes two to three weeks for an effective program.  Steps to ensure a sizeable attendance includes preparing the outline, gathering content, curating a mailing list for attendees, rehearsals, and building an effective advertising campaign to get people there.    With a longer runway, you'll be able to ramp up an audience. However, don't lose out on a timely topic; you can always have a webinar with a small amount of attendees and promote the video recording later on to larger audience using other channels.
